I would also add that, when you want to change course, or propose a new idea, don't do it in a group setting. Individually meet with your team and informally bounce the idea off of them. Ask them for their input. By doing so, you can handle objections in private, perhaps gain valuable insight, and gain support which will aid you when you do discuss it in a group setting.
