Just a quick post to say "thanks" to Josh Hinds at Business Networking Advice. Josh asked me to give him my thoughts about effective business networking techniques. You can see my answers, and the answers of a lot of smart folks, at Josh's site.
Also, Michael Schaffner at Beyond Blinking Lights and Acronyms has "tagged" me to present five things that people might not know about me. If you are not familiar with Michael's blog (Beyond Blinking Lights and Acronyms) you should check it out. He has a fresh approach to considering the place of IT in the business world. Doesn't hurt that we share some of the same philosophies as well.
Five things:
1. I'm proud to have led the sales and marketing team for a firm that made the INC 500 list three years in a row.
2. I love punk rock (Pistols, Pogues, Black Flag, Minutemen...) and Texas music (Robert Earl Keen, Junior Brown, Toni Price). My kids just can't understand.
3. While I write often about teamwork, productivity and leadership, I am fascinated by innovation and the fact that we just don't do it very well.
4. I'm learning (very slowly) to play the bagpipes, but believe me it's not great on the family life.
5. I'd rather be thigh deep in a trout stream that just about any other place on earth.
OK, so those are my five things.
Now, I get to tag some of my favorite bloggers.
Those include:
Bren at SlackerManager
Dominic at BusinessInnovationInsider
Phil at Killer Innovations
Zane at well, several blogs (here and here)
Martin Peretz at The New Republic - his blog "The Spine" - I don't "know" Marty but I like his blog. Maybe the power of the blogosphere will bring us together. What are the degrees of separation on the web?
